For individuals who have difficulty getting to the floor or returning to standing; whether a medical condition, recovering from surgery, or just feeling the affects of aging. We will explore yoga from a chair as well as standing poses.
This practice focuses on connecting the mind, body, and breath with specific attention to proper alignment. We often hold poses for several breaths but will also include some flow. Options are given to accommodate different experience levels; however, this class is not recommended for beginners.
This class moves at a slower pace to allow for an increased emphasis on breathing and quieting of body and mind. Appropriate for students of all levels, including new students, students who are recovering from injuries, as well as continuing yoga students seeking a more introspective practice.
In Yin yoga, the poses are held for a long period of time (typically three to five minutes or longer) to target the connective tissues (such as the ligaments) rather than focusing on the muscles.
